The song you are hearing is To Where You are…
This was played at Timmy’s Memorial service.
Our Son and Brother, Tim
was 22 years old when he died as a result of a one car accident on April 23,
2004. He was helping a friend out, taking her to her dads’ house when we think
they got turned around with their directions and got lost. The road he was
driving on was a long dark gravel road out in the country. It had several
hills and no lights or reflective signs. The road came to an end with no
warning. Tim’s car went over a small ravine and hit a tree going 24 miles an
hour. There were no skid marks to speak of. Timmy was killed instantly. His
friend survived and went for help.
As far as I
know she still has no recollection as to what happened. Since then the street
has been marked with reflector flags and signs. Hopefully this will never
happen again.
Timmy was born July 7th,
1981. I was finally having my baby boy. He was such a beautiful baby. We
adored him. His sisters adored him. It wasn’t too hard to instantly spoil him.
He stayed that way for the next 22 years. If Mom or Dad said no, Tina or Tammy
would give. That was just life. Timmy struggled through school. Many times I
wondered if he would stick it out. But together with lots of help from
his sisters, teachers, and I in May of 2000 Timmy graduated from high school
right on target. That was the proudest day of his life. He was so happy to
have that diploma.
Tim was still trying to find his way in this
world when God decided it was time for him to go home. He had just found the
first girl that meant quite a bit to him. He had just graduated from
Bartenders school. And was looking for that perfect job.
On the night of April 22nd,
2004, Tim got to pick what he wanted for dinner. He picked Pork Chops, Baked
Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. He loved brussel sprouts. After dinner, he
kissed me goodbye, said I love you Mom; He was going to hang with friends for
a while. He said he would see me in the morning. Sometime late that night he
came in. Shortly after, he left to take a friend to her dads’ house in Oak
Grove, Missouri. They never showed up at her dads’ house. At 6:30 am on
Friday morning
the Blue Springs police dept came to my house and told me that my Son was
dead. At that moment my life as it was, was no longer.
I can speculate forever what caused him to turn
down that awful road. Was he goofing around? Did he turn his head at the wrong
time? Did he fall asleep? We will never know for sure and knowing for sure
would not bring him back to me.
This website is dedicated to the Memory of
Timmy. And we wish to share with you some of his most memorable moments.
